Cornerstone Orphanage

The Vision and Projects

Zion Pilgrims’ Christ School was established October 4th, 1999 to meet the needs of Missionary Children, Orphans, Internally Displaced Persons and Vulnerable Children in the society. Our desire is to put smiles on their faces. We believe that meeting the needs of these children will reduce crime and other vices in the society.  The categories of children we cater for are mostly neglected. We care for Missionary Children so that their parents will concentrate on their soul winning activities. We started this vision with three children by God’s grace. Right now, we have served more than 2,000 children.

The Visionary

Joel Jijingi, the Founder of Cornerstone Orphanage, and Zion Pilgrims’ Christ School; both of which are in Bauchi state. He is married to Mrs. Eleojo Jijingi. God blessed them with two children, Favour and Faith. They are missionaries in Bauchi.

God has been providing. We receive sponsorship from friends, churches, muslims, groups, organizations and the government.

Security Amidst Insurgency

God has been protecting us. Bauchi is one of the safest States in North- Eastern Nigeria, in spite of Boko Haram insurgency. Furthermore,  the location of Cornerstone Orphanage in Bauchi town is a Christian dominated community and the youths are ready to defend the community no matter the cost.

A number of the children we trained are: married into good homes and currently have children of their own; working, while others are doing fine in their businesses; graduates, and a few are in the higher institutions. The little ones also, are doing well in their school.

We hosted the USA Ambassador in 2016, and presently, he takes care of more than 200 IDPs for free.

Present Needs and Necessities

Our accommodation is becoming smaller for us because of the increasing number of children we cater for. We don’t have sustainable potable water. We also lack sufficient finance, and have few hands to work with. We need a vocational centre for the children. Other needs include a bigger orphanage, farm house, computer systems to aid learning, a sick bay and a library.
